The Formal Dress - A Quick Guide
We all need formal dresses for all the life changing events in our lives like weddings or graduations. There are the other formal settings such as a formal party and meetings or job interviews as well. We need to learn to differentiate the two and what you may wear to a wedding might not be what you wear to a meeting.
What we wear to a wedding is often draping and may fan out a little bit, a more elegant look. You may also choose to show a little more skin at the wedding while at a job meeting you'd choose to be mostly covered and the length of your skirt may not drape all the way to the ground.
Picking out a formal dress may be dreadful, they're often not something we look forward to wearing but it can very well be! Here's a tip for choosing a formal dress, pick a dark and neutral color such as a dark gray or black. They can be worn on different types of formal occasions. Imagine a black dress with a pair of red pumps and some pearls, you're classy. Then try wearing the black dress with a pair of black heels, a stainless steel watch, you're ready for a job interview. These are just two examples of how you can alter from one look to another and go from one event to another wearing the same dress. If you're creative enough, I'm positive you can come up with alternate ways to fit these dresses into your schedule.
If you have read enough articles about dresses, you'll realize the importance of accessorizing which can range from a clutch to the jewelry you wear or the hair style you wear. All these factors make up a huge part of your appearance.
Dry clean your dresses if possible to preserve the sharpness of the fabric colors and the quality of the dress. I prefer dry cleaning, but with certain materials, you may be able to machine wash.
